The following post is from the MHS Robotics Team and first appeared in Superintendent Gormley's January 30th E-Blast:
Milton High School’s Robotics Team, “Milton Static” will be hosting 17 teams from around New England on Sunday, February 8th for a robotics tournament. Team members are asking for members of the community with an interest in robotics or engineering to come and lend a hand, as well as anyone who can help out by selling tickets, concessions, etc. Matches start around 11am and run until 5pm. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in helping. There is no cost to attend.
Meanwhile, Milton Static attended a tournament in Arlington this past weekend, where they placed 4th out of 13 teams. Last year, the team placed 4th at the Battle of Lexington held at Lexington High School and won the Rockwell-Collins Innovation award for design of the robot.
The team is sponsored by PTC (a software company based in Needham) and the Milton House of Pizza. Members of the team volunteer by working with the robotics teams at the elementary and middle schools. They’ve presented at elementary science fairs and were featured as an exhibition last year for First Night in Boston. Please come to support this team.
The following MHS students are members of Milton Static: Albert Enyedy, Connor Byrne, Liam Chase, Tanvir Islam, Will MacMillan, Alex Dustin, Robbie Silva, Jillian Eckard, Alden Hebard, Kristen Mills, Yusuf Solomon, Nick Daly, Will Breslin and Tristan Darby.
