Milton High School "Back to School Night" - Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.

Milton High School will Host its’ annual “Back to School Night” this Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. Back to School Night is a great opportunity for parents and guardians to get an overview of the high school, receive information from various organizations, familiarize themselves with their child’s schedule, and meet teachers and administrators.  The Back to School Night will start promptly at 6:00 p.m.

6:00 - 6:25 p.m. - Parents/guardians are invited to the Charles C. Winchester Auditorium for an introduction and brief discussion of high school expectations. Outside of the auditorium, the following organizations will have representatives on hand that will speak briefly about their efforts to support the high school: The Milton Foundation for Education, the Boosters, Diversity Committee, Friends and Advocates of Music Education (F.A.M.E), Friends and Advocates of Visual Arts (F.A.V.A.) and a representative from Food Services will be on hand. Please stop by their tables to learn more about each of these fabulous groups/organizations.

6:30 - 8:00 p.m. - Parents/Guardians will follow the student’s schedule for the periods 1 (A) through 7 (J). Each class presentation will last approximately eight (8) minutes. We will announce a change in periods over the PA system. Below, please find the schedule:

      Period             Time

      GH/HI             7:35 - 7:43
      J                       7:48 - 7:56

As parents/guardians go from class to class each teacher will give a synopsis of the class for the year. This is a great opportunity for parents/guardians to get acquainted with the content, instruction and expectations of each class on their child's schedule. Please remember, Back to School Night is not the forum to speak to teachers about individual students.

Administrators and guidance counselors will be available throughout the evening and volunteers from the MHS Student Leaders will serve as guides as well. Since the parking lot at the high school will be full, parents/guardians are encouraged to carpool to the Back to School Night if possible.

Copies of student schedules were emailed home today.  Parents/guardians should remember to bring a copy of their child's schedule on Thursday night.
