Run for Red Nation - this Sunday!

The following is a message from MHS Senior, Brendan Hunt:

The Run for Red Nation is this weekend! This event is being held to raise money for Milton High School's sports and clubs. The 5k fun run/walk is taking place on Sunday, April 13th at the Cunningham Elementary. The start of the race is 9am, so be sure to get to Cunningham with enough time to register, get your race bib, and stretch out. Bib pick up and same day registration will be held from 7:30 to 8:50. It is bound to be a great event and I hope to see Milton High well represented! Please check out runforrednation.webs.com for more information about the event.

If you are unable to make the event, I encourage you to gather donations from friends and family to help support our student organizations. These donations can be given online, or by cash/check given to Mr. Fitzgerald. Again, please check out runforrednation.webs.com for more information on how to donate.

If there are any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,

Brendan Hunt

After the Acceptance Seminar - for MHS Seniors

We know that the spring of senior year can be an exciting but also an overwhelming time for families, as students and their parents begin the decision-making process of where to attend college and how to pay for it.  The MEFA “After the Acceptance Seminars” provides valuable guidance to families on financial aid awards, calculating the balance due and how to pay the college bill.

On Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 7:00 pm at Milton High School, MEFA Representative Stephanie Wells will conduct an “After the Acceptance Seminar”.  After the presentation Ms. Wells will be available to answer specific questions.  Bring your child’s award letters from the colleges and get your questions answered.

See you there!

MHS Teacher is a Semi-finalist for a Prestigious Award

The following post originally appeared in Superintendent Gormley's April 8th Art-Blast:

We have some fantastic news to share.  Dr. Noreen Diamond Burdett, our Fine Arts & Family/Consumer Sciences Director, was recently notified that she was one of only twenty semi-finalists in the country who was considered for the National Teachers Hall of Fame Award. This prestigious award has been given out to deserving teachers since 1992 and Dr. Diamond Burdett was chosen as a semi-finalist among a highly qualified field of applicants nationwide.  Congratulations to Dr. Diamond Burdett whose career in education speaks for itself!
