How can we protect our children in today's technology-driven world?

A message from Mr. Jette, Principal of Milton High School & Dr. Karen Spaulding, Principal of Pierce Middle School:
On March 24, 2014, Milton Public Schools has an important event taking place. We are pleased to announce Katie Greer will be presenting to the Milton community. Ms. Greer is a highly respected internet safety speaker with tremendous experience in the computer field.  She is a former Intelligence Analyst for the Massachusetts State Police and a former Internet Safety Coordinator for the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.  Katie has presented to hundreds of schools, organizations, and conferences (law enforcement and otherwise) during the last 7 years.  Through these presentations, Ms. Greer shares her expertise, providing educational content on issues surrounding digital/internet safety and social networking.  She has been featured in Time, Vanity Fair, CNN, and USA Today. You can learn more about Ms. Greer on her website at: http://www.klgreer.com .
During the school day on March 24th, Ms. Greer will present to our high school and middle school students.  That evening at 7:00 p.m., she will do a parent/community presentation at Milton High School in the Charles C. Winchester Auditorium for adults only (18 and older- strictly enforced).
Recently, staff from both our middle and high school attended Katie Greer’s student and parent presentations in a local district.  They found her unique presentation style to be powerful and very well tailored to fit the needs of the audience.
It is essential that we all work together in order to make this technology-driven world a safe place for our children. Please attend Ms. Greer’s presentation for parents/guardians at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th.
We owe a big thank you to Milton Public School’s PTOs who generously helped to support Ms. Greer’s presentations.
