MHS Robotics Team

Below is a guest post from Mr. Diamond, Science Teacher and Robotics Team Advisor:

Earlier this month, the MHS Robotics team, Milton Static, competed in a 16 team qualifier tournament at Lexington High School in hopes to secure a spot in the State meet at Bridgewater State University on March 1st.

The team placed 4th overall with a heart-breaking loss in the semi-finals.  The students showed great sportsmanship and professionalism throughout the day-long event and I'm very proud of their hard work and dedication to the team.

During the ending ceremony, Milton Static received of a very prestigious award for innovation and design of the robot. The team received a trophy for their efforts.  The name and description of the award can be found here:

Milton Static
Our students put in countless hours after school (and a few Saturday mornings) in preparation for this event and I couldn't be happier with their performance.  They were consistent and competitive in all 8 of their matches and represented Milton proudly.

I'd also like to mention an upcoming club event.  Milton Static will be hosting our second annual FTC qualifier meet at the Cunningham/Collicot School on Sunday, February 2nd from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We will be hosting 20 different teams/schools.  Please stop by and watch some of the matches!

Mid-Year Exams

Happy New Year!  After our extended break, it was great to see all the rested and smiling faces of our students on Monday morning.  Everyone seems to be getting back into the groove as they wrap up second term and begin to prepare for their mid-year exams.

Due to the snow storm, our original mid-year exam window has been moved back by two days.  Please refer to the exam schedule below.

Students should speak with their teachers regarding the exam preparation process and extra help. The National Honor Society will also host a study session leading up to the exam week. More details on the NHS Study Session will be in a later post.
