From Foods teacher, Ms. Lovett:
In an effort to bring the Farm-to-Table movement to the Milton High School Foods classes, the students recently planted seed potatoes, carrots and container corn in the courtyard using a variety of planters and grow bags. This year's harvest will hopefully include the addition of corn to the produce that has been grown and harvested in past years. Lettuce will be planted in August for harvest in September as well. We have not had a shortage of rain since the containers were planted in early June, but hopefully we will have a successful harvest in the fall. This year's project received funding through a generous grant from the Milton Garden Club. Look for our harvesting article and photos in September!
