MHS Hosts Certamen on Saturday, April 27

From MHS Latin Instructor, Mr. Webb:

Salvete!

Milton High School will be hosting a Latin Competition known as Certamen on Saturday, April 27th.  Over 100 students from ten schools across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut will be attending and competing at Milton High. Several MHS parents and students will be helping to run the competition.  We are looking forward to an exciting competition this Saturday!

Post - Certamen Update:

  • Congratulations to our Latin II/III Level Certamen team, which came in 3rd place (for their first trophy of the year).  Matthew Aldrich, David Perkins, Derek Perkins, and Yusuf Solomon were on the team.
  • Thank you to MHS students Kaleb Herd, Christian Jamal, Olivia Jensen, Hannah Shepard, Max Welz and to MHS parents Candace Brown, Edith Enyedy, Alice Jamal, and Terri Solomon. These students and their parents gave up their time on Saturday to help run the tournament.  Also thank you to the teachers, MHS & MPS Administration, custodial staff, and tech staff for their help and support of this event.
  • Congratulations to Micaela Keating, whose entry into "SCRIBO: An International Latin Composition Contest" scored the highest of any of our MHS entries in the contest. As a result, she earned a special ribbon from the competition for her success.
